November 2009
We are happy to annouce that we are changing our csa share size to better accomdate out membership. After discussing the feedback we've received from the 2009 season we've decided it's time for a change in our share size.

We are going to offer 2 options for the 2010 season. Our single share will be (1) 3/4 bushel share of produce each week for 20 weeks from mid June to late October. The single size of share will be good for 1-2 people. Our family share will be (2) 3/4 bushels shares of produce each week for 20 weeks from mid June to late October. The family share is a good size for a family of 4. We'll be adjusting the share cost as well. The single share is a great price at $20 per week & the family size is discounted to $37.50 per week. By visiting our membership page you can choose your pick up location and secure your membership now. The prices listed above will only be good until the end of March. There is will a surcharge for April & May sign ups (if memberships are still available).

We also working on getting some really nice 2009 season share photos on the web to better help you understand what a csa share may provide if you someone new considering a csa membership with Maple Creek Farm.

The weather is still holding out for us now that our 09 csa season is completed. We continue to work in the fields cleaning up, lifting up the drip tape and removing stakes and cages. We're also cutting greens like arugula, mixed asian greens, spinach and some rutabaga as well. We're still participating at the Royal Oak Farmers Market every Saturday from 7-1.

Besides the work on the farm we're gearing up to be involved in many other projects and we'll be sending out more information as we work on the details, but primarily it all has to be with our goals of promoting and inspiring local organic food systems that are benefical and sustainable to both the farmers & eaters involved. It is clear that we need to work together to make sure we all have food choices and that our farming efforts invoke change. Together is where is have the most strength and we appreciate all that you do to support local organic farms & farmers-especially ours :)

Thank you for your support this season. If you're looking for some good food for your Thanksgiving dinner I'll be at the Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital Farmers Market this Wednesday 11/18 & then I'll be at Royal Oak Farmers Market Saturday 11/21.
